{Life's a box of chocolates}

Going home this weekend! I cannot wait. Today is my longest day and then I get to go home tomorrow. The weather is so lovely today it makes me want to go camping or swimming or anything other than school. I am so excited to be home and hang out with my family (and my dogs; I miss Jack and Katie!). I just have to get through today and then its smooth sailing to the weekend. Hallelujah!

Psalm 16:11
"You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand there are pleasures forevermore."

{Got Milk?}

You know when you're a little kid and you come home from a really long day at school and you just want something ice-cold to drink; You run to the kitchen and grab a giant glass, and you pour yourself some ice-cold milk and then proceed to pour Hershey's Chocolate Syrup in it, making the most wonderful beverage otherwise known as chocolate milk?

Yeah, I did that today. It was superb. I miss being a kid.

{Good Morning}

This morning I had to wake up extra early so that I could look over my notes for a presentation for my class. While doing this, I 'subconsciously' opened up my computer and went onto Facebook. I soon after had a realization that I had gone on Facebook at 6:30 in the morning. After I realized that this was absurd and that I did not want to be one of those people that constantly checks their Facebook, I deactivated it. Goodbye to Facebook for now. My roommate, Amie, did the same a week ago and she has inspired me! This may mean that I will blog a lot more (just a heads up).

This week has been so wonderful (actually, these past weeks have been wonderful!). The weather is lovely and I am not yet to the point of being completely stressed about school. last weekend my sisters and Nick were able to come and visit me for the day. I made them all coffee and pancakes and then we went to Pasadena and walked around and shopped. It was a lot of fun. I just love walking everywhere in this weather. After class this morning Amie and I walked to Starbucks and I got a breakfast wrap and a skinny vanilla late. It was divine. It looks like today is going to be another wonderful day.

In other news, I really miss home. School has been very busy and I am trying to find a time to be able to go home for a weekend but there is none. I was just thinking over all the things that I am doing this semester and everything is just piling up. ALSO, I am dying to get my hair cut! I can't believe how much it has grown. This is going to be the one downer about having short hair. I will have to start getting it cut every 6 weeks or something. I have been looking at some cuts that I like and here are a few!

This one looks most like my previous hair cut but I just love it.

I think the thing that I was drawn to about this haircut is her outfit. She looks so cute!

{Passing Afternoons}

I don't think I should read travel magazines anymore because it has taken everything in me not to just get up and leave school and travel. Of coarse there is the financial aspect of traveling that I could never afford but sometimes I just want to find somewhere new and exciting where I can go and no one knows me. I want to be out of my element. I can be free of myself and my own obligations and constraints and just live. Eat exotic food, talk to interesting people. I was reading Travel + Leisure today and there was a giant four page article about Dublin. my heart was literally aching from knowing that I am not going to Dublin in the very near future. There are so many things that I plan for myself and where I should go and I'm tired of planning. I just want to go.

St. Augustine said, "The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." Well Augustine, I guess I have read the first page about a million times. I'm tired of making lists of places I want to see, I'm tired of writing so many down and never being able to cross any of them off. I want to see the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Wall, The Louvre, The Zen Garden of Kyoto, the Amazon Rain forest, I want to witness the Northern Lights. These just seem like the basics that could possibly be on everyone's list but then there are other things I want to do. The one thing I loved most of all about Italy was when we would hit a coffee shop and grab a cappuccino and just sit, watch, and observe the people going about their day.

One thing I would love to do is travel the world looking for the best coffee houses like the Kaffeehaus in Vienna. Apparently this was not only my interest but also many others. I found this article about a person who felt the exact same (except ironically they do not like coffee). They have now been on the search for the best coffee shop in the world and I wish them the best and hope someday I can maybe contribute to the search.

Well, those are my thoughts for the day....

{Brilliant}

By far the best example of Andrew Bird and his talent with the loop pedal. I listened to this song from a free download and fell in love. He is so amazing. Wish I was this brilliant.

{New Camera, Mor Fun}

Hello!
So, as I had mentioned in a previous post, I got a camera for Christmas so today me and two of my roommates, Amie & Morgann, went to Pasadena to find a cool coffee shop where we could study a little. I actually had nothing really to study so I read Sherlock Holmes, but that is beside the point. Anyways, we found this super cool coffee shop where they get all their beans imported and actually roast thier own beans. I mean they have a coffee roaster in the room. It was a great little set up with a fire place and different styles of tables, chairs and couches. I will definitely go back. When we were done we decided to walk around town and hit some thrift stores. (P.S. I was so hard for me not to buy anything but I prevailed and saved my money. YAY!) Anyways, I decided to take my new camera along and here are some pictures I took. Hope you all enjoy!

Yes Please...

I was reading one of my favorite blogs, The Sartorialist, and this is one of my favorites! It was taken in Florence, Italy. I just love this outfit! Her Oxfords are amazing. I would love to travel to Italy and wear something like this. I don't think California would be ready for this outfit so Italy is my fashion destination.

{Delightfully Delightful!}

(my cousins during Christmas!)

Well, almost a whole week back to school and things are already crazy! Break was so wonderful and it was too short yet too long if that makes any sense at all. I got to hang out with my family and friends, although not as much as I would have liked, but now that I am back I need to focus on school.

My roommates and I have been making many different predictions of this semester such as seeing each other a lot more, planning trips on the weekends, eating better and exercising more, playing guitar and lots and lots more. I brought my Harmonica this semester and Cat and me started practicing some songs. I can tell that it is looking like its going to be a fun filled and very busy semester. We are also going to Seattle to hang out at Morgann’s house for the weekend and I am so excited. I will definitely load some pictures up when I get back.

Also, as you can tell I switched around and changed my blog a little bit. Hope you all like it.
